SM-1815 CO₂ Laser Textile Cutting Machine
The SM-1815 is a CO₂ laser cutting machine for textiles, with a 100 W source and a working area of 1800 × 1500 mm. Axis speeds run from 0 to 64,000 mm/min at a resolution of ±0.1 mm. It connects to a PC over USB, and a DSP controller with its own display is built into the machine frame, so a loaded job can be started and supervised at the machine itself.
The distinguishing feature is the camera above the bed. A high-definition SLR camera photographs the entire working area in a single capture rather than building the picture up from several partial frames, which removes the registration errors that come from stitching fragments together. From that image the control recognises multiple cutting patterns and searches out the contour to be followed, so a printed panel is cut on its actual printed outline even when the fabric has stretched or distorted since it came off the printer — the usual difficulty with cutting soft, unstable material.
Motion on the axes is by hybrid servo motors with belt transmission, and the material is advanced by conveyor. The feeder corrects itself left and right as the web moves, keeping the fabric square to the bed, so roll goods can be cut continuously without an operator re-aligning the material at every step. Automatic correction works together with the contour search when the material arrives slightly deformed.
The machine runs from a 220 V supply and draws 1800 W, which keeps installation simple compared with three-phase equipment. It occupies 2365 × 1966 × 2452 mm and weighs 1200 kg. Software is included with the machine.
It suits printers and finishers cutting sublimated and printed textile off the roll — flags, banners and soft signage, sportswear and garment panels, appliqué and lettering — where the pieces must follow a printed outline rather than a nominal drawing.
