Jwei LP360 Laser Label Cutting System
The LP360 cuts labels with a laser rather than a knife or a die. A 300 W metal RF source works at up to 80 m/min with a cutting accuracy of ± 0.1 mm across a working width of up to 350 mm, and the cutting length is unlimited, so the repeat is set by the artwork rather than by the circumference of a tool. The web is held on an aluminium alloy table under negative pressure, which keeps thin face stock flat and in position while the beam works.
The design is modular and takes a number of further processing stations: creasing, perforating, engraving, consecutive numbering, flexographic printing, varnishing and hot foil stamping. That allows a single line to produce a finished decorated label rather than handing the roll on to another machine.
Registration uses a 4K industrial CCD camera that switches automatically between QR codes and barcodes, with automatic correction of edge deviation. Rewinding, sheeting and slitting are automatic, as is waste collection. Files are taken in AI, PLT, DXF and DWG. An imported galvanometer and a three-dimensional dynamic system drive the beam, under the manufacturer's own cutting control system.
Services are a three-phase five-wire 380 V / 50 Hz supply, 15 kW for the machine and 3 kW for the water chiller, and compressed air above 0.4 MPa, free of water and oil. Unwind and rewind take rolls up to 500 mm in diameter. Including the sheeting section the machine measures 1950 × 5500 × 1850 mm and weighs 4000 kg. The laser source is rated at 20,000 hours or more.
The manufacturer states that speed and accuracy depend on the material and the application, so both figures are best confirmed against a sample of the actual stock. The machine suits label converters working with materials that dull or deform under a knife — thin films, PET and protective films — and those needing shapes that no standard die covers.
