Flora Orca 350 Hybrid Label Printing Line

It is a hybrid label line built around the Flora J-350GT inkjet press, with flexo units, cold foil, lamination and digital varnish and foil added in line. That lets you print variable data and finish labels on one machine without moving the web to separate equipment. The line is configured for each customer, so send us your label specification and we will work the configuration through with you.

Media from 0.02 to 0.35 mm thick, with unwinder and rewinder roll diameters up to 800 mm. The rewinder can move up and down. The data does not list a web width or specific substrates, so send us your label material and widths and we will confirm what the line takes.

The unwinder feeds the web under servo control, with web-break detection and joint inspection. Front and back corona treatment and double-sided contact dust removal then prepare the surface before it reaches the print unit, which has a lifting mechanism and automatic nozzle cleaning and moisturising.

Flexo units (one or more, before or after digital printing, for coating, spot colours or cold foil), lamination, the digital embellishment unit with Konica or Seiko heads (varnish, digital foil and Braille), and BST print monitoring. Each module is quoted separately on top of the base press, so the price follows the configuration. Tell us which processes you need in line and we will specify and quote the line accordingly.

The inkjet unit runs at up to 60 m/min and prints at 600 × 600 or 600 × 1200 dpi. The actual speed depends on the job and the quality required: simple jobs run faster than heavy solid-colour work, the embellishment unit usually runs slower than printing, and Braille is applied at approximately 10–15 m/min. Send us your label widths, run lengths and the embellishments you plan to apply, and we will confirm the configuration and the output it gives for your work.

Yes, with the Konica heads in the digital embellishment unit, which lay the thick varnish that Braille needs, at approximately 10–15 m/min. The Seiko head option is meant for fine detail and does not print Braille. The head type is chosen when you order, so tell us early if your labels need Braille and we will confirm it against your artwork.

Jobs are prepared in the ONYX RIP, and variable data such as serial numbers, batch numbers and expiry dates can be imported from a database or CSV file. Send us an example of your data and label layout and we will check it with you.

The configuration is fixed when the order is placed. If you plan to add a module later, the line can be ordered prepared for it. Tell us what you need now and what you may add in the future, and we will specify the line accordingly.

BST print monitoring can be added to the line as an option. Tell us what your customers require you to inspect and verify, and we will confirm which setup fits your work.

A room held at 25–30 °C and 40–60% RH, non-condensing, free of dust and direct sunlight; dry, oil-free compressed air above 0.65 MPa with an air tank of more than 100 L; a 380 V three-phase supply with an automatic voltage stabiliser and a 10 kW UPS; proper earthing; and an independent exhaust of at least 350 mm diameter. Power and floor space depend on the configuration: a full line with two flexo units, cold foil, lamination and digital foil is about 8.8 m long and needs about 100 kW.
