About this machine

The PA-DS2400i extracts the fine metal oxide fume and plastic vapour produced by fibre and CO2 laser marking. Sized for a marking cell or an inline station on a production line. Marking fume is almost entirely sub-micron, so it is invisible and it does not settle - it stays in the air the operator breathes until something removes it. 2400 m³/h at up to 10000 Pa.

Filtration

  • F9 pre-filter, 95% @ 1.0 um
  • H14 deeppleat filter, 99.99% @ 0.3 um
  • Treated activated carbon, approx. 12-30 kg

Key specifications

  • Airflow: 2400 m³/h
  • Maximum negative pressure: 10000 Pa
  • Rated power: 3.5 kW
  • Power supply: 90-110 V / 210-257 V, 1 ph, 50/60 Hz
  • Noise level: below 68 dBA at 1 m
  • Dimensions (W x D x H): 800 x 907 x 1374 mm
  • Net weight: 201 kg
  • Inlet: 200 mm
  • Cabinet: Powder coated mild steel / brushed stainless steel

Recommended for

  • Fibre laser markers and engravers
  • UV and CO2 laser coders
  • Inline marking stations on assembly lines

Intelligent version (PIPS)

This is the i version of the model. It adds the Pure-Air Intelligent Purification System: an industrial touch screen that shows real airflow and negative pressure in real time, a filter health manager that warns before a stage blocks, and automatic airflow compensation so extraction does not fade as the filter loads. I/O and RS-485 allow remote start/stop, linkage with the host machine or robot and centralised control of several units. PM2.5, VOC and O3 sensors are available as an option, and firmware updates are loaded from a TF card.

Installation

Bench-top or on castors beside the marking station. Connect the extraction hood or the machine port to the inlet with a short flexible hose; on an enclosed marker, take the air from the enclosure's own port. Keep the hose run short - marking fume is fine and light, but capture velocity at the nozzle is what decides whether it reaches the unit at all.

  1. Clean air out · brushless fanpulls through every stage
  2. Stage 3 · activated carbonholds VOC and odour
  3. Stage 2 · HEPA H1499.99% @ 0.3 µm
  4. Stage 1 · F5 / F9 pre-filterholds coarse particles
  5. Contaminated air inducted from the machine; dust drawer emptied from the front
Inside the cabinet. Only stage 1 changes between series: pleated F9 on FS, anti-stick PTFE on FGS and flame retardant PTFE on DFS.

Frequently asked questions

What is it for?

The PA-DS2400i extracts the fine metal oxide fume and plastic vapour from fibre and CO2 laser marking of stainless steel and other metals, engineering plastics, cartons, PET, PC, PCB and chips. It is sized for a marking cell or an inline station on a production line. It moves 2400 m³/h at up to 10,000 Pa and suits fibre laser markers and engravers, UV and CO2 laser coders, and inline marking stations on assembly lines.

How does the filtration work?

Three stages. An F9 pre-filter (95% @ 1.0 µm) takes the coarser particles, an H14 deeppleat filter (99.99% @ 0.3 µm) catches the sub-micron fume, and approx. 12–30 kg of treated activated carbon deals with vapour. Marking fume is almost entirely sub-micron: it is invisible and stays in the air the operator breathes until something removes it.

How do we connect it to the marker?

With a short flexible hose from the extraction hood or the machine port to a 200 mm inlet. On an enclosed marker, take the air from the enclosure's own port. Keep the hose run short: the fume is fine and light, but capture velocity at the nozzle decides whether it reaches the unit at all.

What does it need on site?

A 90–110 V or 210–257 V single-phase, 50/60 Hz supply for a rated power of 3.5 kW, and floor space for a unit of 800 × 907 × 1374 mm (W × D × H) weighing 201 kg net. Noise is below 68 dB(A) at 1 m. It stands beside the marking station, on castors or bench-top. It is not explosion-proof.

What does the intelligent control add?

The PA-DS2400i has PIPS intelligent control compared with the standard PA-DS2400: an industrial touch screen showing real airflow and negative pressure in real time, a filter health manager that warns before a stage blocks, and automatic airflow compensation so extraction does not fade as the filter loads. I/O and RS-485 allow remote start/stop, linkage with the host machine or robot and centralised control of several units. PM2.5, VOC and O3 sensors are optional, and firmware updates load from a TF card.
