About this machine
The PA-FGS800i is the model PURE-AIR builds specifically for the sticky dust produced when a CO2 laser cuts wood, plywood and MDF. Resin and binder in the board turn the smoke tacky, and it cakes onto an ordinary pleated pre-filter within weeks. Here the first stage is a PTFE cartridge loaded with natural mineral powder: the dust sits on the powder rather than bonding to the media, and it releases when the cartridge is cleaned. Behind it, a HEPA H14 stage and an activated carbon bed deal with the sub-micron smoke and the burnt-wood smell. 800 m³/h at up to 10000 Pa.
Filtration
- PTFE cartridge pre-filter loaded with natural mineral powder - releases sticky, resinous dust instead of blinding
- H14 deeppleat filter, 99.99% @ 0.3 um
- Treated activated carbon, approx. 12-30 kg, for burnt-wood odour and VOC

- CNC routers and nesting machines working wood and MDF
- Sign-making and furniture workshops
Intelligent version (PIPS)
This is the i version of the model. It adds the Pure-Air Intelligent Purification System: an industrial touch screen that shows real airflow and negative pressure in real time, a filter health manager that warns before a stage blocks, and automatic airflow compensation so extraction does not fade as the filter loads. I/O and RS-485 allow remote start/stop, linkage with the host machine or robot and centralised control of several units. PM2.5, VOC and O3 sensors are available as an option, and firmware updates are loaded from a TF card.
Why not the FS series
An FS unit will extract the same volume of air, but its F9 pre-filter is not designed for resinous dust and will need replacing far more often. On wood and MDF the FGS pays for itself in consumables.
Installation
Free-standing on castors. Short, straight flexible duct from the machine exhaust to the inlet. Leave the front clear for cartridge changes and allow 150 mm at the outlet. Filtered air returns to the room - no external duct required.
- Clean air out · brushless fanpulls through every stage
- Stage 3 · activated carbonholds VOC and odour
- Stage 2 · HEPA H1499.99% @ 0.3 µm
- Stage 1 · PTFE cartridgesticky resinous dust releases
- Contaminated air inducted from the machine; dust drawer emptied from the front

Frequently asked questions
What is it for?
The PA-FGS800i is built for the sticky dust produced when a CO2 laser cuts wood, plywood, MDF and chipboard. It also suits CNC routers and nesting machines working wood and MDF, and sign-making and furniture workshops. It moves 800 m³/h at up to 10,000 Pa.
Which laser size does it suit?
PURE-AIR recommends the PA-FGS800i for CO2 laser cutters and engravers with a bed of 80 × 100 cm. It connects through a 100 mm / 125 mm inlet. Send us your laser model and how many hours a day it cuts board, and we will confirm the size.
Why not use an FS unit on wood?
An FS unit moves the same volume of air, but its F9 pre-filter is not designed for resinous dust and will need replacing far more often. In the PA-FGS800i the first stage is a PTFE cartridge loaded with natural mineral powder: the dust sits on the powder instead of bonding to the media, and releases when the cartridge is cleaned.
How does the filtration work?
Three stages. The PTFE mineral-powder cartridge takes the sticky, resinous dust, an H14 deeppleat filter (99.99% @ 0.3 µm) catches the sub-micron smoke, and approx. 12–30 kg of treated activated carbon removes the burnt-wood odour and VOC. Filtered air returns to the room, so no external duct is required.
What does it need on site?
A 90–110 V or 210–257 V single-phase, 50/60 Hz supply for a rated power of 1.3 kW, and floor space for a unit of 500 × 597 × 1439 mm (W × D × H) weighing 128 kg net. Noise is below 63 dB(A) at 1 m. It is free-standing on castors; run a short, straight flexible duct from the laser, leave the front clear for cartridge changes and allow 150 mm at the outlet. It is not explosion-proof.
What does the intelligent control add?
The PA-FGS800i has PIPS intelligent control compared with the standard PA-FGS800: an industrial touch screen showing real airflow and negative pressure in real time, a filter health manager that warns before a stage blocks, and automatic airflow compensation so extraction does not fade as the filter loads. I/O and RS-485 allow remote start/stop, linkage with the host machine or robot and centralised control of several units. PM2.5, VOC and O3 sensors are optional, and firmware updates load from a TF card.
