About this machine

The PA-FGS1600i is the model PURE-AIR builds specifically for the sticky dust produced when a CO2 laser cuts wood, plywood and MDF. Resin and binder in the board turn the smoke tacky, and it cakes onto an ordinary pleated pre-filter within weeks. Here the first stage is a PTFE cartridge loaded with natural mineral powder: the dust sits on the powder rather than bonding to the media, and it releases when the cartridge is cleaned. Behind it, a HEPA H14 stage and an activated carbon bed deal with the sub-micron smoke and the burnt-wood smell. 1600 m³/h at up to 10000 Pa.

Intelligent version (PIPS)

This is the i version of the model. It adds the Pure-Air Intelligent Purification System: an industrial touch screen that shows real airflow and negative pressure in real time, a filter health manager that warns before a stage blocks, and automatic airflow compensation so extraction does not fade as the filter loads. I/O and RS-485 allow remote start/stop, linkage with the host machine or robot and centralised control of several units. PM2.5, VOC and O3 sensors are available as an option, and firmware updates are loaded from a TF card.

Why not the FS series

An FS unit will extract the same volume of air, but its F9 pre-filter is not designed for resinous dust and will need replacing far more often. On wood and MDF the FGS pays for itself in consumables.

Installation

Free-standing on castors. Short, straight flexible duct from the machine exhaust to the inlet. Leave the front clear for cartridge changes and allow 150 mm at the outlet. Filtered air returns to the room - no external duct required.
