About this machine
Galaxy UD-18R2CL Eco-Solvent Roll Printer
A 1800 mm eco-solvent roll printer built on Galaxy's CL machine body, for banners, vinyl and everyday signage work.
The printer takes one or two Epson i3200-E1 heads printing CMYK eco-solvent ink. With one head, the CL platform is rated at 34 m²/h in draft (3 pass), 26 m²/h in standard (4 pass) and 17 m²/h in quality mode (6 pass), measured by the manufacturer on the 1.8 m model; a second head raises throughput for higher daily volumes.
The carriage has an elevation system with 8 mm of height adjustment at 0.5 mm per turn, so it can be raised for thicker media, and anti-collision guards on both sides protect the heads. The carriage runs on a linear rail instead of a bearing system, and the emergency stop sits on top of the control-side housing, within easy reach. Files are prepared in PhotoPrint or Maintop.
Applications
Banners, self-adhesive vinyl, posters and point-of-sale prints.

Frequently asked questions
One head or two?
The UD-18R2CL takes one or two Epson i3200-E1 heads. With one head the CL platform is rated at 34 m²/h in draft (3 pass), 26 m²/h in standard (4 pass) and 17 m²/h in quality mode (6 pass), measured on the 1.8 m model. Tell us the square metres you print per day and we will recommend the head count.
How is the carriage protected?
An elevation system lets you raise the carriage by up to 8 mm, at 0.5 mm per turn of the knob, for thicker media. Anti-collision devices on both sides of the carriage protect the heads, and the carriage runs on a linear rail.
Which software does it use?
Files are prepared in PhotoPrint or Maintop. If you already work with another RIP, tell us which and we will explain the file workflow.
What does it need on site?
Power for 3400 W and floor space for a machine of 2976 × 718 × 1675 mm, 204 kg net. It ships at 3190 × 800 × 750 mm and 381 kg gross.
How does it differ from the UD-1800CN?
Both print 1800 mm wide with Epson i3200 heads. The UD-18R2CL takes one or two heads for entry-level and mid-volume work; the UD-1800CN is a four-head machine for higher daily output.
