About this machine
Jwei SL Series Digital Cutting Table
The SL series is Jwei's speed platform. Where the rest of the range moves the head with servo motors through belts and screws, the SL adds linear motors with magnetic levitation on the long axis, and that is what lets it hold 3000 mm/s across a bed more than three metres wide. On a shop floor cutting printed sheet all day, the difference is not the top figure but the number of sheets that come off the table by the end of the shift.
Two bed sizes are built. The SL3232 cuts 3250 x 3200 mm and the SL5232 cuts 5200 x 3200 mm — the size that stops a large-format shop from having to cut a banner in two and join it.
Repeat precision is better than 0.05 mm and the machine sets its tools by itself to 0.05 mm, without touching a calibration block. Positioning on printed work is done by camera, with a QR-code module that lets the machine recognise which job is on the bed and cut it without the operator selecting a file. Software resolution is selectable at 0.025, 0.01 or 0.1 mm.
The head takes several tools at once in quick-insert holders, plug and play: electric oscillating knife, drag knife, rotary knife, router module and plotting pen, with V-cut tools for grey board and picture frame, an electric foam knife and an automatic tool changer available as options. Material is held on an aerospace honeycomb aluminium bed with a felt top, under vacuum, with zoned suction available so a small part is not competing with the whole table for airflow.
Safety is built in four layers: a proximity sensor that slows the head, infrared anti-collision sensors, a lift-type mechanical guard and an emergency stop. The machine runs on 380 V, at 23 kW for the SL3232 and 45 kVA for the SL5232.

Why linear motors?
Speed across a very wide bed. The SL adds linear motors with magnetic levitation on the long axis to its servo drive, which lets it hold 3000 mm/s across a bed more than three metres wide. On a shop cutting printed sheet all day, that shows up in the number of sheets finished per shift, with repeat precision better than 0.05 mm.
SL3232 or SL5232?

What materials can it cut?
Rigid board and flexible media. Rigid: ABS, PVC, space board, aluminium-composite, lamp sheet, PVC foam board, KT board and acrylic. Flexible: self-adhesive vinyl, magnetic sheet, backlit film, soft film, coated cloth and vehicle wrap film. It cuts up to 50 mm depending on material and tool, and the smallest cuttable shape is 1 mm.
What does it need on site?
A 380 V ±10% supply: 23 kW for the SL3232 and 45 kVA for the SL5232. The machines weigh 4000 kg and 4600 kg, on footprints of 4550 × 4250 mm and 6557 × 4317 mm, so check floor loading and access before delivery. Running noise is 64 dB.
How are tools set and which are available?

How does it handle printed jobs and files?
Camera positioning registers the print, and a QR-code module recognises which job is on the bed and cuts it without the operator selecting a file. Files arrive over Ethernet as HP-GL compatible instructions, with software resolution selectable at 0.025, 0.01 or 0.1 mm. Control is through an M7 board with a touch-screen interface.
