How is the tube cooled?
With water, through the machine's chiller. That makes the chiller the main factor in how long the tube lasts: keep the coolant clean and the temperature stable. Neglected coolant is the usual reason a tube falls short of the roughly 5,000 working hours it can otherwise reach.
