Galaxy UD-32R8BE Eco-Solvent Roll Printer
The Galaxy UD-32R8BE is the wide member of the Galaxy eco-solvent range, printing CMYK across a maximum width of 3200 mm on rolls up to 100 m long. It is built around Epson i3200 E1 printheads in configurations from one to four heads, and in the full build reaches an output above 190 m²/h in two-pass draft mode. The 3200 mm width is the point of the machine: full-width banners and building wraps come off in one piece, with no seams to align and no welding afterwards.
At this width, keeping the media flat and tracking straight over long runs is the harder engineering problem. The pressure rollers are electrically driven and controlled from four points along the beam, so grip can be set across the full span rather than at the ends alone, which is what keeps a three-metre roll from wandering or creasing during a long print.
The media path carries a triple heating system with a two-stage dryer combining forced ventilation with infrared, so the ink is fixed and dry before the print reaches the take-up roller. Ink is fed from a chipless CISS bulk supply refilled from bottles, and the supplied colour profiles are built to reach a given result with less ink; the catalogue quotes 0.28 €/m² at average photographic coverage. An anti-crush system protects the carriage from media that has lifted, and a take-up system is included.
The machine takes frontlit and backlit PVC, mesh, self-adhesive vinyl and paper, and runs under the FlexiPrint RIP. It draws 3400 W from a 220 V supply, measures 4480 mm across and weighs 427 kg, and is aimed at workshops producing up to roughly 1,000 m² a day of large-format indoor and outdoor graphics.
