GL Series CNC Spray Gluing Machine

The GL series applies adhesive by controlled spraying under CNC control, rather than through a fixed applicator or a screen. The path is driven by servo motors and the adhesive is laid down to an accuracy of ±0.1 mm, which is what allows a bead to be placed close to a fold or an edge without flooding it. Two working sizes are built: a 1500 × 1500 mm effective area on the GL1515 and 2000 × 1500 mm on the GL2015.

Because the spray is controlled automatically rather than by trigger time, the amount of adhesive laid per unit of area is consistent from the first piece to the last. The manufacturer quotes a reduction in adhesive consumption of 30 – 40 % against the method the machine replaces, and reckons the automated cycle saves the labour of two to three operators.

The machine is compatible with a range of adhesives — yellow, white and PU cold glues as well as hotmelt — so the same machine can be set for the bonding behaviour a given substrate needs rather than being tied to one adhesive family. Adhesive is fed from a 0.3 – 0.6 MPa air supply and the machine runs on AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz.

Control is through a CNC controller with a touch-screen interface. Both regular and irregular patterns can be set on it, which matters where the glue line follows the outline of a shaped display panel rather than a rectangle. Three operating modes are available: manual, foot pedal and fully automatic, so the same machine covers sampling and production.

The series is aimed at producers of POP displays, bags and gift packaging — work where the glue path changes often, the substrate is printed and visible, and adhesive squeeze-out cannot be tolerated.
